The 2022 Ford Edge is the perfect mid-size SUV for those looking for a reliable and stylish vehicle capable of handling all kinds of terrain. Along with its two engine options, the Edge also comes with an impressive array of interior convenience features that make this affordable SUV competitive with its luxury class counterparts. For 2022, Ford introduced a Black Appearance package with stylish black exterior accents. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Ford Edge is available in five trim levels: the SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST. Currently, the Edge comes with nine exterior paint color options: Star White, Rapid Red, Forged Green, Iconic Silver, Stone Blue, Carbonized Gray, Burgundy Velvet, Atlas Blue, and Agate Black.
Some of the standard exterior features on the entry-level SE trim include a body-colored rear spoiler, black lower cladding, dual exhaust tips, a laminate windshield, privacy glass, a bright grille, LED configurable signature daytime running lamps, and LED tail lamps with amber turn signals. Other exterior features include black roof rack side-rails, manual-folding mirrors, rear window defroster, and rear parking sensors.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 Ford Edge comes standard with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine can generate horsepower of 250 and torque of up to 280 pounds-feet of torque. The ST model differs in its engine, with a 2.7L twin-turbocharged engine with a seven-speed automatic transmission that can generate 335 horsepower and up to 380 pounds-feet of torque. All models of the Ford Escape come standard with intelligent all-wheel drive, making it even more capable of handling off-road terrain.
Performance
The 2022 Ford Escape has different EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings for the different engines it's available in. The 2.0L engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission has an estimated fuel economy of 21 miles per gallon in the city and 28 on the highway, making a combined average EPA estimate of 23 miles per gallon.
